At Jindaiji, we will stroll the quiet grounds and take part in a traditional oharai purification ritual. Inside the main hall, you will observe monks performing this ceremony, where sacred fire is still used — a rare tradition preserved over centuries. You will receive a protective ofuda charm. Participation in the ritual requires an ofuda, and its cost is included in the participation fee. Next, we will enjoy handmade soba noodles at a local restaurant, with insights into the land, food, and history. To conclude, we will sit on a bench or in the Aquatic Botanical Garden and enjoy freshly prepared matcha tea and a seasonal nerikiri, a traditional Japanese sweet.
