Tetebatu is a lovely mountain village, 700m above sea level on the south slopes of Mount Rinjani in East Lombok. It is a cool mountain retreat with beautiful rice terraces, forest and bright green fields of crops and tobacco on the surrounding slopes. and is a lovely place for walking or a day trip. Drive for about 2 hours, meet with your local guide at the starting point. He will lead your way across the rice fields and plantations and fruit gardens. Depending on the season different crops are grown, such as chilies, tobacco, and fruits like Rambutan, Jackfruit or Guavas. Farmers are busy with seeding, ploughing or harvesting and a trek through the fields and forests.
